Sizzling Blissing Cake

People, rise to the occasion:

I’m a little off-beat

I swear the newness of the morn

Shimmied in my teeth

And the best way - I swore - being

all it takes

If I could taste a bit of the blissing cake

Hold me from dusk to dawn -

That’s when I shiver most -

I need a touch of reality – Truth – and

the Holy Ghost

You know who that reminds me of right...?

    :D

    COLDPLAAAYYYY!!!!!

Though the poem, has a TS Eliot feel to it. Especially the line 'if i could taste a bit of the blissing cake', reminds me of Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock, the line where he whines about being a loner-socialite amongst all the women, drinking their tea.

warmwork can kiss my ever-lovin' arsenic and old lace.

i was thinking more along the lines of e. dickinson again. though ts eliot is a bit of an influence, i don't think i could be compared to him favorably. i don't even know sanskrit.
