  1. I have a little confession: You're intelligence intimidates me.

However, posts like these calm me right down. I hope the Bulls looooose!!!! :) hee hee. I'm a HUGE basketball fan, so if you ever want to discuss NBA politics on and off court, I'm your woman.

Annnd back to the confession. Your blog is one of the few where I have to actually read what's being said and take the time to process it. Most blogs, have very simplified, lazy, if not tactless commentary (like mine) that allows the average 8th grader to explore personal and random thoughts. And although I'm sure your blog intends to do the same, my friend, it invites only the pragmatic and well developed mind to its posts. The scholar even, and those well versed in international events, theology and spiritual dogmology (and yes I LOVE neologisms like 'dogmology', that one gets added to the memory bank)...and let's not forget how you manage to squeeze a little pop culture on the side.

    I enjoy it all!

I just find I have put on my thinking cap and put a little effort into the subject matter discussed, in order to fully immerse myself into the content of your blog.

And I thank you for that.

Thank you for helping me raise my intelligence level again. I've become sloppy :) I blame undergraduate degrees (which I'm still working on, how sad for me).

P.S. You had asked me to re-post something on my blog which I'll do soon, because I now see most people couldn't access it. Thanks for the heads up.

    Shalom U'vrakah (peace and blessings)

  2. And I see you like Cross Movement and Calvin and Hobbes as well? Oh we will be good friends, count on it :)

  3. I don't know if anything good can come out of a confession that says, "Your intelligence intimidates me." ;)

I believe that the truly intelligent are able to take complex things and turn them simple. Y'know, like Dylan.

But, yeah, a large amount of what I'm attempting in this blog is not so much the mundane, but the concepts behind the mundane and spiritual. It's practice writing. But I see your point. No wonder anybody ever leaves comments. Thanks for heading into virgin territory!

I'll talk some more later when I'm not actually in charge of the soup kitchen.

    peace,
    j.

  4. Furthermore, I cannot flippin' stand the fact that my picture of Farley as Superfan doesn't show up on this post half the time.

    Gosh!

  5. And why you picking on my Bulls? Who you gonna root for, the Raptors?? Baby, please.

But now that you jinxed them, the Bulls are behind by eight in the first quarter at Washington. Nevermind, of course, that the Bulls are a good road team, are already two games ahead and outlast their opponents.

As for Cross Movement, been down with them since Heaven's Mentality. I've never gotten a chance to meet them personally, but word on the street is they are real. Not too many people would use words like "propitiation" in their lyrics, unless they were Steve Camp (OLD SCHOOL alert, OLD SCHOOL alert!).

Ahhh, screw, the Bulls are down by twelve now. Ohhh, make that ten... Nine.

I don't know if there's much pragmatism in either my posts or my mind. I think that to live pragmatic is to live apart from the Spirit of God. If anything, I'm lofty and pretensious, the exact opposite (and, honestly, just as dangerous) of the practical side.

    Still nine points.

I don't have a problem with putting in random thoughts, frustrations and goings-on - they're just not my style.

    Seven points.

I think the scholars and the well-developed minds would scoff at me, mon amie. True, I have a wide variety of interests, but I'm more of what a much older friend would call a "jack of all trades, master of none."

    Eight points.

And despite my advanced years (I just turned thirty), I just graduated with a BA last year (Teaching of English).

    Nine points. Pull it together!

    Seven points.

By the way, you're welcome. :)

    Peace,
    j.
