Sorry

Where have I been all my life? Or all of July at least?

Here. (PLUG!!!!!)

I miss blogging here, though. Anyway, we're leaving for Colombia tomorrow and been really busy just trying to keep all things together - as well I had a couple week long writing projects that really took longer and more out of me than expected.

Tomorrow my wife and I leave for Medellin, Colombia for just over a week, and then on to Bogata. I'm pretty excited, but I think that's just nerves. Whatever it is, it's helping to keep me awake even on days like today where I've received no coffee whatsoever.

My wife is thrilled, however. It's a sort of home-coming for her. She spent over six years of her life there before I anchored her down in the US of A.

It just turned her birthday fifteen minutes ago from this sentence. We will be leaving in twelve hours. Would appreciate prayers. (Do I sound desperate here? Like last will & testament type stuff? It's the lack of sleep making me a bit histrionic. Just a little bit to lighten the melancholy.)

I thought I should leave my anonymous friends and anybody else who would care to a link to an article on pro-life ideology and torture.

I am pro life as well...it really bothers me that democrats have rallied to fund the murder of babies via $300 million to Planned Parenthood every year.

I am pro life and it really bothers me that the presumed Democratic presidential nominee actuall voted AGAINST a ban on LIVE BIRTH ABORTIONS.

I am pro life too, and it upsets me when torture occurs, but at least those people were murdered in the womb of their mothers.

THe story you linked was pure justification, minimizing the murder of babies because...fill in the blank with any liberal casue from anti war to going green.

Dude, I pray that your thoughts are not of this world...two wrongs can not make a right. Supporting nominees who actually vote against a BAN on Live birth abortion can not be justified biblically.

  3. Bret,

I'm sorry. i fail to see how a case for voting for a president who cannot really affect the abortion rate in this country (as the current administration has shown, not to mention 20 of the last 28 years under conservative "pro-life" presidents) but yet who believes that going into and supporting unprovoked war and showing favoritism towards the rich is supported by the Bible.

at all.there is plenty in the bible about protecting the weak and powerless, but i'm kind of struck by how we've interpreted that to primarily mean the unborn. i think we should defend them; it's just not working politically. but yet, we see so many downtrodden and powerless on a regular basis and we try to do something politically for them and all of a sudden it's condemned as 'Godless socialism'?

no, let's put God in the middle of our compassionate actions (and not just for the fetuses) for the widows and fatherless, and then we won't have another USSR or PRC.
